The clamp of the Shimano Deore XT BL-M8100 brake lever is angled so that the outer end of the reservoir rests directly on the handlebars. The two contact points thus created ensure significantly greater stiffness, which ultimately results in more direct feedback and therefore more braking power. Shimano's SERVOWAVE technology
, which ensures particularly good modulation, also ensures better braking performance. Because the brake lever absorbs a large amount of braking distance immediately at the beginning of its travel, the brake pads make contact with the brake rotor more quickly, leaving more space for modulating the braking force. SERVO WAVE brake systems are therefore characterized by faster response, higher performance, and a shorter idle stroke. The BL-M8100 is 10% stiffer than its predecessor, even at high temperatures. The lever reach adjustment is directly adjustable without additional tools. Thanks to the I-Spec EV construction, the Deore XT SL-M8100-I shift levers can be mounted directly to the brake lever.
